The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is located in Speedway, Indiana, U.S. The Indianapolis Moto GP was added in 2008 to the Moto Grand Prix championship calender, with it's main sponsor being Red Bull (thereafter also referred to as Red Bull Indianapolis GP).
The layout of the race track is much alike to the setup which was used for the Formula One United States Grand Prix (held from 2000 till 2007). It has been reversed to a counterclockwise layout, with a new complex of corners just after the start-finish line, inside Turn 1 of the oval, meaning that bikes do not use any of the banked oval corners.
